I love cats and grew up with them (amongst other beasts) but my in-laws have a couple of long-haired lovelies and prolonged exposure to them makes me cry, sneeze, wheeze, snot and rash. I don't really mind though.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I really *am* allergic to cats, so I don't say it with no basis in fact. And I've got the disgusting hives and snot (and skin test results) to prove it. Achoo!

I am exactly where you are, c_b. I'm more of a dog person, but I still love the kitties, and would spend more time around them if it did not induce wheezing, crying, sneezing, and all sorts of unpleasant things.
